Yarnton Lane in the rain

12 members of the walking group set out in damp weather from Yarnton, on Friday 12th December.

We meandered around the Yarnton and Begbroke areas - along Gravel Pit Lane, past a playground, across Sandy Lane and around the Begbroke Science Park, then North to the Woodland and west parallel with Rowell Brook; over the Woodstock Road and along Spring Hill Road to St Michaels Begbroke, then across the fields turning South back to Spring Hill Road, back over the Woodstock Road, then into Begbroke Lane East almost to the Canal at the Roundham Lock Bridge , then back along the new path to the Science Park, down an alley off Sandy Lane back to Gravel Pit Lane and finally, back to our start - where we were invited in for tea, coffee and festive food (Stollen and Mince Pies, of course) by walk leader Jackie - to whom many thanks! The rain did not dampen our spirits or our conversation, though we were all a bit muddy and damp at the end. We'd done about 5 miles

Our last walk for the season, thanks to Jackie for having planned and lead it - and the refreshments after, too.
